The Carmel Foundation Art Show

The Carmel Foundation ART SHOW! Last year, artists of the Foundation wowed fellow members and the public with their amazing array of art.  These multi-talented artists displayed wood carvings, collage, watercolors, pastels, and photographs.  This year we highlight our talented artists on September 18 from 10:00 to 3:00pm.  A Reception for the artists will be held from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Friday the 17.  The Carmel Foundation is very proud of its members and asks that you join us in support the arts created by our members.

Financially Savvy Ways to Renew Your Membership
Appreciated Stock: Gifts of appreciated stock promise big tax savings! When you make a charitable donation of appreciated assets, like stock, that have been held more than a year, you avoid capital-gains tax and generate a tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the property at the time of transfer.

Depreciated Stock: In this market, consider selling your depreciated stock first and giving the proceeds to the Foundation to reap double benefits: Use the loss on the sale of the stock to offset other capital gain, and your cash gift generates a tax-saving charitable deduction.

Transfer funds to our organization from your IRA: Taxpayers 70½ and older are required to make annual distributions from their retirement accounts. You can transfer up to $100,000 from an IRA directly to our organization this year without those funds being treated as a taxable distribution to you.

For more information, please contact Linda J. Lee at lindal@carmelfoundation.org. or 624.1588 x52.
