Sally Kneeland Petru's pursuit of botanical illustration came after a 10-year career in landscape architecture and 12 years into raising a family.  She has studied under Catherine Watters, Jenny Phillips of Australia, Anne marie Evans of England, and Lizzie Sanders of Scotland.

Sally's artwork has been exhibited in several juried and non-juried group shows.  Memberships include Filoli, California Watercolor Society, American Society of Botanical Artists, and Northern California Society of Botanical Artists for which she is the founding President.
