SPEAKER: Nicki Ehrlich, Award-winning Local Novelist
This will be a book launch for the third book in the Ellis River Trilogy, Valley Home. Nicki will tell us about writing the trilogy, described as literary historical fiction. Taking place in 1865 and 1866, and spanning the country from Western Tennessee to California, the trilogy tells the story of a young woman, her beloved horses, the impact of the Civil War on her family, and how it all leads her to striking out on her own across a country both exquisite and daunting.
Nicki’s debut novel, Ellis River, won numerous awards, including the Independent Book Publishers Association’s Bill Fisher Award for Best First Book - Fiction. The audiobook won the IBPA’s Award for Best Audiobook – Fiction. The second book of the trilogy, Zephyr Trails, won a gold Independent Publishers Book Award.
