Paperscapes is the work of Vania Fusco, an indigenous artist from the kelp forests of northern Chile, now based in Pacific Grove. Her grandmother, Fine Bird, raised her to love the natural world, especially kelp. Vania cuts and layers paper into whimsical marine animal portraits and evocative coastal landscapes — the very ecosystems that shaped her. By including reclaimed paper, the materials get a second life; through her art, she wants the ocean to get a second chance, too. All materials included — just bring your favorite, precision tipped scissors.
