First performed in 1972, this suspense thriller follows Elaine Wheeler, an insomniac heiress living in a Manhattan townhouse who believes she has witnessed a murder in a neighboring abandoned building. When she reports seeing a dead body, the police, her husband, and a close friend all find no evidence, leaving Elaine’s sanity in question and raising a chilling mystery: was there really a murder, and if so, where did the body go?

Directed by Nancy Bernhard and performed by local actors, this staged reading promises an engaging evening of suspense and intrigue.
