When Cultures Collide: Stories from America & the Middle East

Margaret Kahn, Ph.D., will read excerpts from her memoir Children of the Jinn: The Story of My Search for the Kurds and Their Country and her recently published collection of short stories: Familiar Strangers: Stories from America and the Middle East. She will also talk about what led her to the Middle East in the first place, and the difference between writing fact-based memoir and fiction. Margaret has been writing stories since she was nine. Her stories have appeared in a number of periodicals. Her plays have been produced at theaters in Maryland and California.
