Mission Statement
The Carmel Foundation provides a welcoming space for members — adults 55 and better — to gather, participate in a variety of activities, and build meaningful connections in an environment of respect, dignity, and camaraderie.
What we do
The Carmel Foundation is a membership organization serving more than 2,500 adults age 55 and older. Our mission is to support successful aging by offering a broad range of programs and services that address the evolving physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our members.
Programs & Services Include:
More than 50 weekly classes and activities
Affordable lunches served on-site four days per week
49 affordable apartments for low-income seniors
Day trips to museums, performances, and shopping destinations
Wednesday programs with lectures, presentations, and entertainment
Meal delivery for homebound members
Free mobility and medical equipment loans
Lending library
Café with free Wi-Fi
Free blood pressure checks
Caregiver support groups

Foundation Financials & Annual Report
The Carmel Foundation is committed to transparency and responsible stewardship of the funds entrusted to us by our community. Our current annual operating budget is approximately $2.5 million.
Each year, the Foundation raises more than $1.8 million in charitable contributions beyond program fees and membership dues in order to sustain vital programs and services for older adults. Since our founding in 1950, The Carmel Foundation has never accepted government funding. The Carmel Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.
