She has a love for old country, classic American standards, and Broadway. With over 50 years of performing behind her, Debbie has spent the last 16 years sharing her music at Doris Day’s iconic Cypress Inn, where her heartfelt voice has become part of its charm. • February 4: Precision, Purpose, & Community: Our Blue Angels Journey

Join three former members of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels — Amy Tomlinson, C.J. Simonsen, and Ben Blanton — for a rare behind-the-scenes look at the Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron. All served with the Blue Angels between 2009 and 2012, supporting some of the team’s most memorable seasons. In this engaging talk, they’ll share what it was like to train, travel, and perform with a team known around the world for precision, discipline, and teamwork. Amy served as “Blue Angel #8” (Events Coordinator), C.J. as F/A-18 demonstration pilot, flying as a Solo Pilot (Blue Angel #5 and #6), and Ben as the pilot of “Fat Albert,” the iconic Blue Angels logistics support C-130 aircraft. Now raising their families on the Monterey Peninsula, they’ll reflect on the lessons they carried forward into life after the military — leadership, resilience, humility, and connection — and answer audience questions. A unique chance to meet your local Blue Angels and hear stories you won’t find on TV.

Legion of Honor: Manet & Morisot Exhibition
$115 for members & guests | Deadline to sign up: Tuesday, January 6

This is the first major exhibition dedicated to the artistic exchange between French Impressionists Édouard Manet (1832–1883) and Berthe Morisot (1841–1895). Manet was the era’s great pioneer of modern painting, and Morisot, the only woman to exhibit under her own name in the original Impressionist group. Unfolding over a period of 15 years (1868–1883), this exhibition traces the evolution of a friendship between two groundbreaking artists. The story of their relationship has often been told through Manet’s early portraits of Morisot, with Morisot’s own work treated as an offshoot of Manet’s.

Recent scholarship reveals that, by the final years of his life, Manet increasingly followed Morisot’s example — her choice of subjects and colors, and even her rapid, fluttering brushstrokes. Rich in new research, the exhibition recasts this celebrated artistic friendship — and, by extension, the story of modern art — in a fresh light.

Leave the Crossroads Shopping Center at 9 am. Depart the museum at 3:30 pm. Arrive in Carmel approximately at 6 pm.
